Christmas 2015

December 29, 2015

This year, I didn't get much in terms of material presents, but I would have to say that this is the best Christmas I've had in a very long time.

They say Christmas is for kids, I would have to agree to that, but not 100%.  For kids, Christmas is all about the colorful lights, the tree and whats under it.  For adults, maybe it's an occasion that tires out your wallet (with your 13th month pay in it)... But (I believe) it is also the best time to reflect on what has happened throughout the year and be thankful for it no matter how awful.

For me, Christmas now is a grand thank you day for Jesus and preparation for the coming new year.

That being said, this years Christmas post is about being thankful of all the blessings I have received this year.
  1. Career & Work. My work ain't perfect. It's toxic, time consuming & sometimes nerve wrecking, but this year my employer and co-employees has showed me so much compassion in what I had gone through this year and for that I am very thankful.
  2. Friends.  It is true that when you get older, you'll also notice your friends list getting shorter.  I am thankful for the few true friends that still remain in my life.  It is in this year that I realized who the real ones are.

  3. Family.  We may not be the conventional family, but whatever it is that we have left has definitely pushed us to become closer.

  4. My Own Family. I never saw myself being a mother and a partner, BUT being both is probably the best thing that has happened to me.  This is the greatest and most beautiful blessing of them all.  I have done a lot of awful things in my life, but despite all those, I must have done something good to deserve this.  Specially my darling little angel, Avery.
Happy Holidays, everyone!

  1. I can totally relate to this! I, too, did not really get anything this Christmas in the material sense, but it was still a very fulfilling one nonetheless. Yes, it's true that our friends list get shorter, but at least the few that remain are our TRUE friends <3

While I don't celebrate Christmas, I feel like it is a time to be thankful. To remember everyone you love and who you are now. Happy Holidays Alex and have an incredible 2016 <3
