Labor Day Weekend Vacation Part 1 | La Union

May 09, 2016

Last May 1, while everyone else was overusing the hashtag #LaBoracay2016 and flooding our feeds with Boracay pictures, I, together with Ren's family went on a trip to the North!  Our first stop, the surfing capital of the north, La Union!

We stayed in a Santorini inspired resort, La Roca Villa.  The interior and ambiance of the place is just amazing! However, their customer service is equally bad. :(

We arrived at La Roca Villa at around 11:00 AM (check in was 1:00 PM) and no one was at the front desk.  According to a staff, the "owner" was still in the market, thus she can't entertain guests yet.  She said "wala pa pong check in time" and that she would have to wait for the owner. Good thing there was a small kubo type waiting area by the beach area beside the villa  We waited there until 1:00 PM.

Ren's cousin booked the biggest room (Php5000-6500 with own bathroom, kitchen and dining area) which can accommodate about 7-8 people, but they told us that the room was only for 4 people and they are only allowing 1 additional person in the room for Php500.  So, if you're on a budget trip to La Union with your family or friends, this is definitely not the place to check in to.  And, honestly, if I go back to LU, it wouldn't be my first choice.

Nevertheless, we enjoyed the stay there.  Avery enjoyed the pool and  I must say, very instagram worthy ang peg ng resort :P

Of course, it wouldn't be a La Union trip without the beach and surfing.  Well, it was just the boys who went surfing :P

Surf Coaches starts at around Php300/hour and surf board rates starts at Php150/hour.

Ate over there was literally blocking the camera view the whole time. Haha!
Look at that baby! :*

Before dozing off, we had dinner at this food place just right across the street from San Juan Surf Resort.  I am so sorry I forgot the name of the place, but it's the one in the ground floor of Clique Superclub's building. Hehe.

La Roca Villa View at night
After dinner, I was already on Mommy & TitasOfManila mode and so I just went to bed with Avery. :P

The next morning, we were off to Ilocos Sur!

PS. Working on the post! Stay tuned!
